Lovett - Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025

Pleasance Courtyard, July 30th - August 25th

The "Lovett" poster - A woman prays but, on closer inspection, she is holding a pair of severed hands in prayer

“When the people shall have nothing more to eat,

they will eat the rich.”

Jean-Jacques Rousseau

The newly-widowed young Mrs Lovett needs to find a way to survive. Using the skills she learned from her whaler father, Eleanor “recalibrates”.

Long before she meets Sweeney Todd, we discover what ultimately leads her to turn his victims into pies.

If you only know Mrs. Lovett from Sondheim’s acclaimed musical, this new play invites you to dig into what made her: the brutal choices of a life in poverty. When the difference is life or death, morality becomes a moveable feast... and Eleanor is getting hungry.

BoonDog Theatre proudly present "Lovett", premiering at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025 - It will run at The Pleasance Courtyard from July 30th until the 25th of August.

Tickets now available here.
